KinkyKent Chat Help
We have two other chat room help sections-
Java help- this is for web based chat - simpler to use.
mIRC help- this is more complicated, but allows you better control
How to chat in our chat room
The following might sound complicated and put you off, but its all common sense. Its like walking into a pub...
Chat Ethos
We have a very simple view on what we want our KK Chat room to be. We would like it to be like our munches - friendly, non threatening, non judgemental and respectful. To help us achieve these we have a few simple rules. We don't approve of 'Trolling' - Our room is not a 'pick up' channel, and we don't like people who enter our room to talk privately to others just to pick up/sexual reasons
Flooders - people who send lots of lines of text to the chat room in a short space of time
Unwanted information - people who give out advertising/personal details/automated messages like their current music being played
Unwanted private messages - some people don't like unannounced private messages (pm)/whispers, so unless you are sure its OK, its best to ask first in channel before pm'ing somebody
People who are in a lot of rooms at once, as we don't feel they can contribute much to eah room if they are spread to thin.
Otherwise, please chat and have fun!!!
Chat Room conventions
To help understand some of the chat room conventions we use, here is a short summary:
Everybody is known by a nickname (or 'nick'). This is any name of your choice between 1 and 30 characters long.
Nicks must be unique on the chat server, so you may have to change yours
Dom, Dommes and Tops usually start their nick with a capital letter
subs, bottoms and slaves usually start their nick with a lower case letter
people who are 'collared' can show this by adding it after their nick e.g. nick{C} shows the person nick wheres the collar of someone starting with a C. Sometimes the whole nick could be used. See Jargin Buster for more information.
The use of upper case letters for whole words is like shouting, and can be considered rude
Lots of abbreviations are used, some of which are:
:) - smiley or happy face indicating the person is happy
:( - unhappy
brb - 'be right back'
bbl - 'be back later'
afk - 'away from keyboard'
lol - 'laughing out loud' or 'lots of laughter'
roflol - 'rolling on floor laughing out loud'
kk - KinkyKent!!!
btw - by the way
ltns - long time no see
Many of these abbreviations are now common mobile phone text message abbreviations as well.
The person called 'knickerless' is our room 'bot' (or robot). Its not a real person but looks after the room and implements some of the rules described above for us.
Please talk to an op (their names start with an @ sign) if you have any problems.
