About KinkyKent The idea for KinkyKent started in early January 2002 when a small group (3 of us!) met for a drink after meeting online (the first KK munch?). We wanted to make something happen here in Kent. The chat room was started and from talking to people it showed there was a level of interest. The Website was set up quickly and went live in February 2002 at the same time as the mailing list. The site, the chat room and the mailing list grew far far quicker than we ever imagined and we held the first KinkyKent munch proper in April 2002 in Ashford to which 35 people turned up. For the next few months we held munches in Ashford, and also joined with the munches being held in Rochester. By the end of the year we also held our first munch in Margate and in Canterbury. In the spring of 2003 we started holding munches on the same Friday as Club XS, first in Chatham, then in Rainham. These munches are the most popular with up to 40 people attending. Over the past three years there have been over 50 KK munches and events. The chat room has gone well, and in 2003 we started a regular(ish!) Monday evening discussion time (now 9:30 to 10:30pm) where a KK member will host a particular topic - so far we have 8 different people host this now regular event that usually attracts between 15 and 30 people. We have also organised on our own or with others a number of demonstration evenings and two christmas parties. Our last Christmas party (Jan 2004) was attended by 75 people. The KK website has been growing and evolving. At present it is getting between 75 and 100+ unique visits a day. We have never intended to be a 'dating' agency, so its an unexpected bonus the couples that KK has brought together, and the many friendships that have been formed. To quote one person, "Before KK I didn't really have much to do at weekends, now I have a boyfriend and a full diary for the next 6 weekends of events and parties". Along with the growth there are also some growing pains There are many more people we could mentioned that have helped in getting or keeping KK running - Maelstrom/Gothy has been our main DJ so far on KK Radio, Beduin and nikki for help with starting the discussion evenings, laponna and tabby for chatting alot in the chat room in the early days and for just being themselves! Mistress Jacquie and slut for their time and efforts in the chat room and the Medway munch and many other bits! The various people who have organised munches. herbal and indigo for being demonstration bunnies, Dingle and bisto for the two wonderful karaoki evenings. The chat room ops (supervisers) who help look after the chat room - Mistress Jacquie and slut, MisstressKaren and felix, Gothy and others... Knickerless, our chat room (ro)bot. The list goes on and on. Finally, when we started KK, we didn't appreciate then number of geniune and friendly people there were about, and all the hard work that they already have done and continue to do for the BDSM scene here in Kent and further afield.
